Ruffec - Charente
Commune du Sud-Ouest de la France, son histoire millénaire est liée à sa situation géographique sur la route entre l'Angoumois et le Poitou ; c'est une cité tranquille.
La ville fut, durant les années terribles de la guerre, un centre de la Résistance pour l'évacuation des aviateurs alliés vers l'Espagne.
Ruffec is situated in the South-West of France in the Charente department ; its millennial history is linked to its location on the road between the Angoumois and Poitou.
The city was during the war's years, a center for the Resistance and the evacuation of Allied airmen to Spain.

Sorry I seem to have been so busy that I am not finding time to write comments!! The countryside is very pretty at the moment with the wild flowers and the blossom out. They are also cutting a lot of wood on the road I go to for French lessons at Pont Agris. Bonne semaine Diane
